Records of the Vice President for Planning, 1966-1986 (bulk 1973-1978) [manuscript].

Records are chiefly those of John L. Sanders, who was Vice President for Planning from 1973 to 1978. They deal with the University's desegregation plan, state aid to private colleges, and planning for state-supported education in the fields of law, nursing, and veterinary medicine. Of particular interest are files related to the accreditation of North Carolina Central University's School of Law and to the decision to build a veterinary school at North Carolina State University rather than at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. A few items date from Cameron West's tenure as Director of the North Carolina Board of Higher Education, but are relevant to the files in these records.
